This I questioned how she knows this to be true when no one knows what is causing the shudder, let alone how to fix it. Later I see this is just a dumping bin for complaints to be stacked up until enough merit a recall, she could give me no time frame, yet assured this issue was in no way dangerous or going to leave me stranded. They give me the Ford Hot Line Consumer number to call to open a case on this auto. By now, my patience are shot to hell, and I tell him this is totally unacceptable to me and I feel they should buy back my car or replace with something else, etc. Looks like I will have to wait until they come up with "Ford's Better Idea" of how to fix this, while I am making payments on a brand new car. So, where does that leave me, I asked as my rage is nearly choking me. is not authorizing any repairs at this time". When I arrive to pick it up here's what I get: "Ford is aware of this issue in this vehicle, engineers are working on a solution, therefore Ford Motor Co. They gave me a rental, kept it 4 days, then called me to come get it. He did feel and hear the "shudder", and again scheduled an appointment to have it taken care of. Drove it home and saw that it was still doing this, so I went back to service manager, Brad, insisted he ride with me in the car and I would show him. Took vehicle in and waited at dealers 4 hours, only to be told, " We drove it, cooled it down, etc., and could not find anything wrong". Technician brought to my attention "There is a bad shudder in your transmission when shifting from reverse to drive ". Took into service for condensation in lens of driver's side mirror. Took delivery of this auto ($33,624.99 sticker) on. Buyer beware of transmission issues on these vehicles. We are going to go lemon law on this and Escape the Ford Escape. Looks like Arbitration and lawyers will have to get involved. I called Ford and have a case number started and am waiting to see what Ford will do. My wife and I are extremely frustrated with our new car buying experience. The sad thing on this is Ford knows there is a problem and is not able to resolve it at this time. I am a transmission teacher and know that shuddering is not good and its clutch slippage in transmission which will reduce life of transmission. We bring it back a 4th time and Ford Replaces the valve body on the transmission and we get it back and it still Shudders. So we call the dealer and they tell us Ford does not have a fix for it at this time. So we get it back and its still doing it. The third time Ford authorizes the technician to pull the transmission and install a bunch of parts. So she brought it back in and they said the program did not take? (Really) So she brings it in again and they re-program it again and guess what its still doing it. Brought it back home and it was still doing it. We took it back to the dealer the first time for a reprogram. Wife gave me a ride in it and went from reverse to drive and I felt a shudder in transmission. I had my wife buy her first new car a 2016 Ford /escape with a 2.0 liter eco-boost engine and front wheel drive. Let's hope Taylor Ford comes through for me and everything works out. I don't think the lemon law applies to leases so I will be screwed even more it this vehicle does not get fixed. I just want it fixed and hope it can be done but after reading these comments, it doesn't look hopeful. I have to have a car as Michigan has no mass transit system. I have no other vehicle and have taken paycuts so I cannot afford to make car payments on a vehicle I cannot drive. I had a Ford Escape SE 2013 and had no problems which is why I went with the Escape again. Scared the heck out of me and my passenger so much that we both looked back to make sure I had not hit anything. It was shuddering all day and at one point it actually felt like I had hit something in the road as I heard and felt a huge clunk in the rear end of my vehicle. Over time it would shudder when I drove it for no apparent reason when driving. Started when I would put the car in reverse. We will see as it should be free as it is under warranty. Makes me nervous already! I have been told I will receive a loaner when I get there. I cannot take this 2016 Ford Escape Titanium in for my dealership (Taylor Ford) until next Monday as the dealership is full of transmission problems.
